All funds will be used to support the production of “A Place Called Desire,” which we are hard at work creating. Unfortunately, the making of this film is costly. We have reached roadblocks. Due to both Hurricanes Betsy and Katrina, many photographs that would have assisted in telling this important story were washed away. Many supporters have shared what few personal images of the community they had, but more are needed.

The only option we have in telling this story is to purchase archival footage and photographs from repositories. Just to give you an idea of the cost that is involved, one second of archival film footage is $20. To use photographs from the local newspapers would be approximately $250 per image. This is an example of just two of the cost associated in the making of this documentary. In spite of this, the story of the Desire Community needs to be told. Any and all donations would be gratefully accepted and appreciated towards this goal.
